The existing 200 SF Kitchen was functionally constrained by the Dining Room on one side and the Family Room on the other. In order to create the desired kitchen it was apparent more space was needed, and the only way to succeed was to create an 90 SF addition to the west. Privacy from the neighbors on the north was also an issue. To remedy this, the addition was oriented on an angle which also allowed for easy access to their existing patio space. As an added bonus, the space gained above the addition was accessible from the office/bedroom. The renovated kitchen space was zoned into functional areas including cooking space, large pantry, and a small breakfast area. The orientation of the kitchen allowed for a large island that serves both as a food preparation area and gathering space.

While the owners enjoyed their traditional Webster Groves residence, they lacked a large space to accommodate their growing family. On the east side of their property, the new 576 SF addition was placed as an extension to their living area. Access to the new addition is through the existing living space; several steps down from the first floor and several steps above the backyard, allowing for comfortable flow from inside to outside. At the second floor the roof was aligned with the east side of the chimney to maintain natural light into two existing bedrooms. Both existing window openings have been re-utilized; One as an opening into the new addition and the other as a doorway from the living space. High windows plus a clear-story on the north side of the house allow natural light into the room yet maintain privacy from the street. All large mature trees and landscaping along the property line were maintained as a buffer to the adjoining property. Private lawn space was created which connected to the existing deck in the south west corner. The new detached garage, near the southern property line, maintained privacy for their rear yard.

The one story addition to an existing residence included a complete new kitchen and family room, along with a screened porch and site development. The design of the exterior was meant to tie into the existing half-timber structure on the house and roof lines were designed to match and blend with the existing slate roof of the house. The kitchen was designed to take advantage of the views to the rear of the property and to integrate the exterior development of the house. The site facilities included a complete landscaping plan, terraces, gazebo and pool area. The swimming pool consisted of a small residential area integrated with an adjacent whirlpool / spa area.

Daytona Condominiums was a complete renovation - exterior, interior, and site of two 2-story multi-family structures. Site improvements included a new gazebo, landscaping, and exterior lighting. Limestone retaining walls and landscape beds were added at the front to create a private courtyard between the buildings. The outdated interiors were renovated to provide modern and contemporary units. The exterior was refurbished including wood trellis and covered entrance ways with sky lights.
