The new Engineering/Warehouse Building is programmed to be a 68,615 SF facility to house Engineering Service (Administration and Shops), AMMS (Administration and Warehouse) and EMS Service. EMS Service consists of the laundry processing service displaced by the demolition of existing Building 88 in Phase II to make way for the new Energy Plant/Generator Building/Substation facilities as part of the new Medical Center campus infrastructure. These services currently reside in various existing buildings to be demolished in order to condense the Medical Center campus and allow for the NCA Expansion. WESLEY GARDENS SENIOR COMMUNITY SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT | ST. LOUIS | MO
|
This proposed Senior Community is a garden style, sustainable, affordable living facility. This is the initial phase of a residential six building Master Plan. The development consists of 52 one story one bedroom units and a community building with support facilities. Every unit is designed to be adaptable for residents with disabilities. Support services will facilitate tenants’ independent lifestyles while attending to their general welfare and social needs. The buildings will harmonize with the church and neighborhood. This community is the first phase of a greater neighborhood development including various housing options. The community building is conveniently located to serve all units and support wider neighborhood activities. In addition all units have safe convenient access to the community park, church functions, and the Daycare Center avoiding traffic, parking, and other vehicular circulation issues. The proposed site is adjacent to an existing church and parking area. Proposed future development on church property includes a new Daycare Center. The site development was planned to direct the massing and orientation to maximize open space and minimize energy usage by optimizing passive solar design principles and selection of high performance HVAC systems.
